General information about the Extra EA-400 series
On April 23, 1996, the German business aircraft Extra EA-400 was launched for the first time. The machine was designed and marketed by the company Extra Aircraft. The market entry took place two years after the first flight, 1998. The aircraft should be a propeller version of the predecessor Extra 500. According to the manufacturer are still 29 aircraft of this version in use. Because the production was adjusted with regard to the Extra 500. The aircraft is designed as a high-wing aircraft and has a tail unit with T-shape. The Extra EA-400 weighs empty 1,206 kilograms and has a maximum take-off weight of 1,950 kilograms. The cruising speed is 348 kilometers per hour, with top speed expanding to 406 kilometers per hour. At about 7,500 meters is the maximal service ceiling. With six people on board, the range is 1,700 kilometers, with just four people, the range increases to 2,600 kilometers. The Extra EA-400 is powered by a liquid-cooled boxer engine Teledyne Continental TSIOL 550-C with 261 kilowatts of power.
