Behind the term Cessna Citation II hides the model Cessna 550. The machine is a twin-engine business jet or a jet of the US manufacturer Cessna. The Citation II or the Citation Bravo belong to the airplane family of the Citation. On January 31, 1977, the first flight took place. The market entry followed a year later. From 1978 to 1994, 733 copies of the Cessna Citation II were built. From 1996 to 2006, the successor, the Citation Bravo, was built. Of this variant created 377 pieces. The Cessna Citation II is very similar to the Cessna Citation I. The successor version is only 1.14 meters longer and has a different drive. In addition to the classic travel jet, it also offers variants as a measurement, research and ambulance aircraft. The Model 552 has been used as a T-47A in the US Navy as a training aircraft. The Cessna Citation S / II was announced in October 1983. This model has an aerodynamic hull and new engines. In addition, this machine is also qualified for single-pilot operation. In addition to the US Navy, the Cessna Citation II is also used by other countries militarily. These are for example Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Argentina, South Africa or Myanmar.

The Cessna Citation Bravo differs slightly in specifications from its predecessor. The machine can carry seven to ten passengers and has space for two pilots in the cockpit. They are powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW530A engines. In addition, the aircraft is 14.39 meters long and 4.57 meters high. The span is 15.90 meters. The Cessna Citation Bravo weighs 3,970 kilograms and the maximum take-off mass is 6,715 kilograms. The machine has a maximum cruising speed of 743 kilometers per hour and a maximum range of 3,520 kilometers.
